Abstract

El perfil lipídico incluye la determinación de colesterol total, colesterol HDL, colesterol LDL y triglicéridos, pruebas de rutina para un laboratorio clínico. La hipertensión arterial es una enfermedad crónica, que afecta un tercio de la población adulta, el Objetivo de esta investigación es: Valorar la importancia de la realización de pruebas de laboratorio del perfil lipídico en usuarios hipertensos que consultan en el hospital nacional “Monseñor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez" de Ciudad Barrios. Metodología: La investigación es cualitativa, documental, descriptiva y de campo, se realizó una recopilación de información teórica, entrevistas a profesionales de la salud y encuesta a seis usuarios hipertensos que consultan el hospital, con la finalidad de recopilar, describir y caracterizar el conocimiento de la utilidad e importancia de un perfil lipídico. Resultados: Los profesionales de la salud entrevistados consideran que es necesario hacerse un perfil lipídico completo en este tipo de usuarios, pero en el hospital no se realiza el perfil completo lo que limita llevar el control de salud requerido por la persona hipertensa. En cuanto a los usuarios encuestados había desconocimiento sobre la importancia de las pruebas del perfil lipídico y del beneficio de estas para valorar su propia condición de salud. Además, expresaron no chequearse periódicamente. Los laboratoristas clínicos manifiestan que la prueba colesterol LDL que forma parte del perfil no se realiza en el hospital. Reflexión Tanto la teoría como los profesionales en el área de la salud coinciden en la importancia de la realización del perfil lipídico con todas las pruebas, es responsabilidad de las instituciones de salud dotar de los insumos necesarios para controlar la condición de salud de los usuarios hipertensos y de esta manera incidir en la prevención de complicaciones cardiovasculares en esta población que cada día es más frecuente. The lipid profile includes the determination of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, routine tests for a clinical laboratory. Arterial hypertension is a chronic disease that affects a third of the adult population. The objective of this research is: To assess the importance of performing laboratory tests of the lipid profile in hypertensive users who consult at the national hospital "Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez "from Ciudad Barrios. Methodology: The research is qualitative, documentary, descriptive and field, a compilation of theoretical information, interviews with health professionals and a survey of six hypertensive users who consult the hospital were carried out, with the aim of to collect, describe and characterize the knowledge of the usefulness and importance of a lipid profile Results: The health professionals interviewed consider that it is necessary to have a complete lipid profile in this type of users, but in the hospital the profile is not carried out complete which limits the health control required by the hypertensive person. The surveyed users were unaware of the importance of lipid profile tests and of the benefit of these to assess their own health condition. In addition, they expressed not to check themselves periodically. The clinical laboratories state that the LDL cholesterol test that is part of the profile is not performed in the hospital. Reflection Both the theory and the professionals in the health area agree on the importance of performing the lipid profile with all the tests, it is the responsibility of health institutions to provide the necessary supplies to control the health condition of hypertensive users and in this way to influence the prevention of cardiovascular complications in this population that is becoming more frequent every day.
