Abstract

The use of technology has become an important part of the learning process in and out of the class. Every language class usually uses some form of technology. Technology has been used to both help and improve language learning, and it enables teachers to adapt classroom activities, thus enhancing the language learning process. It continues to grow in importance as a tool to help teachers facilitate language learning for their learners. This report focuses on the role of using new technologies in learning English as a second/foreign language. It discussed different attitudes which support English language learners to increase their learning skills through using technologies. The specialization course: Administration of Virtual Environments for the Teaching and Learning of Foreign Languages was created due to the need of students to continue with the graduation process that was delayed as a consequence of the pandemic and the difficulties in carrying out the thesis project. This course was addressed on the fundamentals of online education and its application on the English Language Teaching conveyed to the virtual or online teaching approach, The main objective of this course was to analyze and identify the importance of Learning Theories for the development of English language teaching methodology, creating materials for virtual learning environments, and apply them in the use of resources related to web 2.0 worth the purpose of involving students in their assignments with a change of environment as learners and as facilitators in their virtual classrooms.
