Abstract

RESUMEN: Se aplicaron los tratamientos de Termoterapia y Crioterapia durante los meses de julio y septiembre de dos mil seis, a una población de ocho pacientes con diagnóstico de Parálisis Facial que asistieron al Hospital Nacional San Pedro, departamento de Usulután en los cuales se verificaron los beneficios físicos que se obtuvieron a través de dichos tratamientos a los pacientes con esta patología. Así mismo se utilizó la investigación prospectiva, transversal y comparativa. Aplicando las técnicas documental bibliográfica, hoja de evaluación de Fisioterapia. Después de haber concluido con la ejecución y obtenido todos los resultados de los ocho pacientes a los que se les aplicó el tratamiento de termoterapia aun grupo cuatro pacientes y crioterapia a igual número de pacientes, se dio paso a la tabulación, análisis e interpretación que permitieron comprender claramente los cuadros y gráficas que se elaboraron en los cuales se presentan los datos de las hojas de evaluación de Fisioterapia con que se evaluaron a los pacientes, presentándose los datos más sobresalientes. Los pacientes que se recuperaron en menor tiempo fueron aquellos que recibieron tratamiento con termoterapia, reflejándose así la importancia de esta modalidad en los pacientes con esta patología logrando con ello alcanzar una evolución más rápido. Se encontró que la causa más frecuente de la Parálisis Facial en la población estudiada fueron los agentes virales con 75%. Para finalizar se presentaron las conclusiones y recomendaciones para con ello proporcionar nuevas sugerencias que favorezcan al conocimiento de la investigación y del área de Fisioterapia. ABSTRACT: Thermotherapy and Cryotherapy treatments were applied during the months of July and September of two thousand and six, to a population of eight patients with a diagnosis of Facial Paralysis who attended the Hospital Nacional San Pedro, department of Usulutan, in which the physical benefits that were obtained through these treatments to patients with this pathology. Likewise, prospective, cross-sectional and comparative research was used. Applying bibliographic documentary techniques, Physiotherapy evaluation sheet. After having concluded the execution and obtained all the results of the eight patients to whom the thermotherapy treatment was applied to a group of four patients and cryotherapy to the same number of patients, the tabulation, analysis and interpretation that allowed clearly understand the tables and graphs that were prepared in which the data from the Physiotherapy evaluation sheets with which the patients were evaluated are presented, presenting the most outstanding data. The patients who recovered in less time were those who received treatment with thermotherapy, thus reflecting the importance of this modality in patients with this pathology, thus achieving a faster evolution. It was found that the most frequent cause of Facial Paralysis in the population studied was viral agents with 75%. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations were presented in order to provide new suggestions that favor the knowledge of the investigation and the area of ​​Physiotherapy
