Abstract

RESUMEN La salud mental es un aspecto fundamental en la vida de cada ser humano, la cual se ha visto afectada de manera negativa por la pandemia por COVID-19, en particular en el personal de salud ya que poseen una mayor exposición por la naturaleza de su profesión. Objetivo: Analizar el impacto de la pandemia por COVID-19 sobre la salud mental del personal de salud que labora en el primer nivel de atención del sistema sanitario salvadoreño. Metodología: Fue de carácter prospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y cualitativo donde la población de estudio fueron 35 personas que laboran como personal de salud en el primer nivel de atención del sistema sanitario salvadoreño y que brindaron servicio durante la pandemia por COVID-19 en la UCSFI y sus ECOS en el municipio de Alegría, Usulután, El Salvador. Se aplicaron criterios de inclusión y exclusión. El instrumento que se utilizo fue una encuesta de 15 preguntas cerradas, abiertas y de selección múltiple. Resultados obtenidos: Se determinó que la pandemia por COVID-19 causo un impacto en la salud mental de la totalidad del personal de salud 100% en su mayor parte negativo 83% y 17% de carácter positivo, el 71% sufrió uno o varios tipos de trastorno mentales, entre los cuales los principales son: el estrés 25% , fobia a enfermarse 20.%, síndrome de Burnout 19%, ansiedad 16%, trastornos de sueño tipo insomnio 12% y trastorno depresivo 4%, donde el 91% del personal considero que hubo un aumento en la incidencia de trastornos mentales, además el 74% del personal emplearon medidas de autocuidado con el objetivo de proteger su salud mental. Conclusión: La pandemia por COVID-19 genero un impacto en su mayor parte negativo en la salud mental de la totalidad del personal de salud del primer nivel de atención del sistema sanitario salvadoreño. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic generated a mostly negative impact on the mental health of all health personnel at the first level of care in the Salvadoran health system.
