Abstract

English is considered as a universal language nowadays. The English language provides different cultural background of the country connected to the language. English has been playing a major role in many sectors as medicine, engineering, politics, economics, international relations, and higher education in particular. This work describes the role of the language and its importance among students of the University of El Salvador during their career. In addition, it contains information about the attitude of the students and the way they deal with it. In addition, it identifies the courses where English written material is presented but no English is taught. It determines how English written materials influence non-English speaker in the competences during and after their majors. English in modern education, particularly in higher education sector and the role of modern technology in promoting English language learning/teaching quality to meet the standards, communication needs and cultural exchange across the world.
