Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify what have been the impact of large groups on the development of oral expression in the learning of French as a Foreign Language in the Advanced French course of the Modern Language major: specialty in French and English of the Department of Foreign Languages of the School of Arts and Science sat the University of El Salvador during the semester II-2020.Good pronunciation is very important for effective communication and any foreign language student should master it well at the end of their career. Unfortunately, there is no magic recipe for a good pronunciation. The key is daily oral practice in and outside the classroom. In this research is shown how much is the average number of students that a classroom must have, according to some authors. It mentions the advantages and disadvantages of working with large groups as well as the reasons why large groups are created, then it includes the point of view of students who have been part of large groups during the course in previous semesters and in the same way, the point of view of some professors has been taken into account. Finally, it is presented the conclusions and recommendations based on the research results, which are addressed to the main authorities at the Department of Foreign Languages, students in Advanced French of the Modern Languages major, and to the professors who play an important role in the classroom. In addition, it is included the contribution of the results in this research, advice, techniques and methods for a good development of the oral expression in French at the end of the career.
