Abstract

RESUMEN: Se analizaron e interpretaron los resultados de 336 encuestas dirigidas a las mujeres de 15 a 49 años sexualmente activas, de la comunidad Milagro de la Paz, del departamento de San Miguel, en el período de julio a septiembre de 2003, con el objetivo de obtener información acerca de los factores que influyen en la no aceptación de la Citología cervico vaginal en las mujeres de dicha comunidad. Se definieron como objetivos específicos determinar si los factores socioculturales; e investigar si la actitud de los proveedores de salud es la que influye en la no toma de Citología. El estudio que se realizó fue de tipo prospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y explicativo. Las técnicas que se utilizaron para la obtención de la información son la documental escrita, bibliográfica y hemerográfica. Mientras que los instrumentos para recopilar la información del trabajo de campo fueron la cédula de entrevista, dirigida a las mujeres en estudio y las fichas archivológicas (expedientes clínicos de las pacientes). ABSTRACT: The results of 336 surveys addressed to sexually active women from 15 to 49 years of age, from the Milagro de la Paz community, in the department of San Miguel, from July to September 2003, were analyzed and interpreted, with the objective of obtaining information about the factors that influence the non-acceptance of cervical vaginal cytology in women of said community. Specific objectives were defined to determine if the sociocultural factors; and investigate whether the attitude of health providers is what influences the non-taking of Cytology. The study that was carried out was prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and explanatory. The techniques that were used to obtain the information are the written documentary, bibliographic and hemerographic.
