Abstract
El sobrepeso y la obesidad infantil son un problema de salud pública, que se ha ido incremento durante las últimas décadas y que recientemente se vio agravado por la resiente pandemia del COVID– 19, esto debido a las medidas adoptadas de aislamiento en el hogar, con el cuál llevaron a presentar hábitos de sedentarismo, así como una mala alimentación, por lo que el objetivo de este estudio es identificar los factores asociados a sobrepeso y obesidad en la población infantil, así como las consecuencias psicológicas en los infantes, con el fin de proponer estrategias para la disminución del sobrepeso y obesidad infantil. Se realizo una búsqueda bibliográfica en Revista Panamericana de la Salud Pública (OPS), Revista CIMEL, Revista Alerta, Biblioteca Virtual UES FMO, y en Google Académi¬co, limitada a textos completos, publicados entre los años 2019 a 2023, en idioma es¬pañol. El sobrepeso y la obesidad infantil a largo plazo con lleva a problemas, en el estado de salud del infante, así como consecuencias psicológicas por su aspecto físico, así como una baja autoestima. Abstract Childhood overweight and obesity is a public health problem, which has been increasing during the last decades and was recently aggravated by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, due to the measures adopted for isolation at home, which led to sedentary habits and poor nutrition, so the objective of this study is to identify the factors associated with overweight and obesity in the child population, as well as the psychological consequences in infants, in order to propose strategies for the reduction of childhood overweight and obesity. A bibliographic search was carried out in Revista Panamericana de la Salud Pública (OPS), Revista CIMEL, Revista Alerta, Biblioteca Virtual UES FMO, and Google Scholar, limited to full texts, published between 2019 and 2023, in Spanish language. Overweight and obesity in children in the long term leads to problems in the health status of the infant, as well as psychological consequences for their physical appearance, as well as low self-esteem.
