Abstract

La leche materna constituye el alimento ideal para todo recién nacido. La Organización Mundial de la Salud ha reconocido la importancia de esta durante los primeros seis meses de vida ya que contiene elementos bioactivos e inmunológicos que benefician no solo a la madre, sino también al lactante. Las propiedades de la leche materna y la evolución de su composición revisten una importancia como fuente de prevención de numerosas patologías. Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en Pubmed, SciELO y Google académico, fueron incluidas únicamente las publicaciones que se encontraron a texto completo, en español e inglés durante los años 2019 al 2023. Por lo que se analizan los componentes tanto biológicos e inmunológicos de la leche materna, para precisar los beneficios de éstos tanto para el niño como para la madre, por lo que es necesario la promoción de los beneficios de la lactancia materna para el óptimo crecimiento y desarrollo del lactante, así como el apoyo de esta práctica. ABSTRAC: Breast milk is the ideal food for every newborn. The World Health Organization has recognized the importance of this during the first six months of life since it contains bioactive and immunological elements that benefit not only the mother, but also the infant. The properties of breast milk and the evolution of its composition are important as a source of prevention of numerous pathologiesbibliographic search was carried out in Pubmed, SciELO and Google academic, only the publications that were found in full text, in Spanish and English during the years 2019 to 2023, were included. Therefore, both the biological and immunological components of milk were analyzed. maternal, to specify the benefits of these for both the child and the mother, which is why it is necessary to promote the benefits of breastfeeding for the optimal growth and development of the infant, as well as to support this practice.
