Abstract

En la presente investigación, de proceso de grado, se reconoce la iconografía cultural como un elemento valioso para la identidad de los pueblos, lo cual se hace evidente en el centro histórico de la Ciudad de Izalco, que cuenta con gran riqueza patrimonial, por esto fue necesario la creación de una iconografía pictórica, que identifique sus sitios históricos con valor cultural. La propuesta del proyecto que tiene como título “Identificación visual iconográfica pictórica de los sitios históricos con valor cultural y patrimonial, a través de la intervención en la nomenclatura de la ciudad de Izalco”, pasó varias etapas dentro de las cuales está la Planificación de la investigación que brindo las orientaciones de cómo abordar el proceso investigativo de acuerdo a los principios del Método Cualitativo. La etapa, que correspondió a la ejecución de la investigación, consistió en la Construcción del objeto de estudio, desarrollando trabajo de campo, valorando opiniones, recopilando información proveniente de informantes claves. Finalmente culmino con la presentación del producto o resultado de la investigación en la que se realizó la intervención de la nomenclatura de la ciudad de Izalco, a través de iconografía pictórica que identifica sus sitios históricos, todo esto documentado en un manual. Palabras clave: centro histórico, patrimonio, iconografía, SUMMARY In the present degree research process, cultural iconography is recognized as a valuable element for the identity of the towns, which is evident in the historic center of the town of Izalco, that counts with great patrimonial wealth, for this reason the creation of a pictorial iconography was necessary, to identify its historical sites of cultural value. The proposal of the project that has as title “Pictorial iconographic visual identification of historic sites with cultural and patrimonial value through the intervention in the nomenclature of the town of Izalco”, went through several stages within which was the preliminary research project that gave guidance on how to address the investigative process according to the principles of the Qualitative Method. The stage, which corresponded to the execution of the research, consisted in the construction of the object of study, developing field work, valuing opinions, and gathering information from key informants. It finally culminated with the presentation of the product or outcome of the investigation, in which the intervention of the nomenclature of the town of Izalco was made, through pictorial iconography that identifies its historical sites, all of this documented in a manual.
